2027 Ram 2500: prices, the Cummins Power Wagon, the payload package, and the warranty question
The 2027 Ram 2500 keeps the body and engines from the 2025 refresh (405-horsepower HEMI, 430-horsepower and 1,075-pound-foot Cummins) and adds the things people kept asking for: the Cummins in a Power Wagon at $89,560, an $835 package that lifts HEMI payload to 4,580 pounds, and badges back on the fenders. It starts at $48,040 before destination. Here is what Ram has published and what is reported.
Running changes on a truck that was substantially updated for 2025
Ram’s own release is titled “What’s New for 2027: Ram Heavy Duty,” and it lists packages, options, badges and colors, not a redesign. The 2500 and 3500 got their big refresh for 2025, with the 430-horsepower Cummins High Output replacing the standard-output diesel. For 2027 the headlines are the Cummins-powered Power Wagon, the Payload Upgrade Package and a new fleet-only pursuit truck. Trucks reached dealers in August 2026.

- Power Wagon with the Cummins
- Offered for the first time. 430 horsepower, 1,075 pound-feet, 19,630 pounds of towing and 2,930 pounds of payload, with fifth-wheel and gooseneck prep available and the first auto-leveling rear air suspension on a Power Wagon. Orders opened August 10, 2026 at $89,560 including destination. Note: the Warn winch is not available on the Cummins Power Wagon; Ram says that could change.

- The optional beadlock-capable wheel returns.
- Payload Upgrade Package
- An $835 option on most 2500 HEMI trucks that borrows the 3500 frame and rear leaf springs (replacing the 2500’s rear coils) and adds the anti-spin rear differential. GVWR goes from 10,000 to 11,040 pounds and maximum 2500 payload reaches 4,580 pounds, which Ram calls best in class. Available on Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited and Limited Longhorn; not on Warlock, Rebel, Power Wagon or Black Express.
- Badges
- The “Symbol of Protest” V8 fender badge now comes on every HEMI heavy-duty, in Satin Black on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, Rebel, Power Wagon and Night Edition trucks and a brighter finish on the rest.
- Packages loosened up
- Sport Appearance and Night Edition move down to the Level 1 and Level 2 equipment groups. The sport performance hood is a standalone option on Rebel and Power Wagon, and on Big Horn with Night Edition or Sport Appearance. The Warn winch is a standalone option on HEMI Rebel and Power Wagon without the Level 1 group. The anti-spin rear differential is a standalone option on the 2500 Tradesman.

- 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet with the TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic. Standard on every 2500. Maximum 2500 towing 17,750 pounds on Ram’s 2027 capability page (17,740 in the preliminary what’s-new release); payload up to 4,580 pounds with the Payload Upgrade Package.
- 6.7-liter Cummins High Output
- 430 horsepower and 1,075 pound-feet with the heavy-duty 8-speed automatic. The only diesel: the 370-horsepower standard-output Cummins was dropped in the 2025 refresh. Maximum 2500 towing 20,000 pounds; payload 3,990 pounds. The option is reported at $12,995 over the HEMI. reported
- What is not coming
- No Hurricane inline-six, no hybrid and no new generation has been announced for the heavy-duty. Ram has said its whole lineup will be refreshed or replaced by the end of the decade; the specifics for the HD are rumor. reported
- Warranty
- Unsettled. Ram’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty was introduced for the 2026 model year; press reports in October 2026, and a Stellantis Canada spokesperson, say it is not renewed for 2027, which would return the HEMI to 5 years/60,000 miles and the Cummins to 5 years/100,000 miles. Mopar’s consumer page is headed 2026, while the dealer policy letter reads “2026 model year and newer.” Until Ram posts a 2027 statement, get the warranty terms written on your order sheet. reported

- A Tradesman-based package, 2500 only, Crew Cab 4x4 with the 6-foot-4 bed: black grille surround, bumpers and flares, 20-inch wheels on 34-inch Goodyear Duratrac all-terrains, Bilstein shocks, anti-spin rear differential, transfer-case skid plate, hill descent control, tow mirrors, all-weather mats, an 8.4-inch Uconnect screen (the 12-inch screen comes with the Level 1 Equipment Group) and a cloth bench for six with a fold-down center console. - The on-road-friendly off-roader: 33-inch tires on 20-inch wheels, a rear limited-slip plus electronic rear locker, fuel-tank and transfer-case skid plates and the sport hood, with the Warn Zeon 12 winch on HEMI trucks. - Solid 9.25-inch front and 11.5-inch rear axles, Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials front and rear (the rear works as a limited-slip when unlocked), an electronically disconnecting front sway bar, Bilstein monotube shocks, rock rails, skid plates for the DEF tank, fuel tank and transfer case, 34-inch all-terrains, hill descent control and powder-coated steel bumpers. 14.2 inches of ground clearance with the HEMI, 13.2 with the Cummins, which also gives up the Articulink front suspension and the factory Warn winch; Ram now offers the winch as a standalone option on HEMI Rebels and Power Wagons only. Ram has published three 2027 prices: the 2500 Tradesman Regular Cab 4x2 from $48,040 before destination on ramtrucks.com, the Power Wagon Cummins at $89,560 including destination, and the Payload Upgrade Package at $835. confirmed There is no official 2027 trim-by-trim list for the Crew Cabs yet. The figures below are from Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book for Crew Cab 4x4 trucks in early November 2026; both appear to include destination and differ by a constant $665, so treat them as a guide. reported

Does the 2027 Ram 2500 have a bench seat for six?
Yes. The cloth 40/20/40 front bench is standard on Tradesman, Black Express and Warlock, with a center section that folds into a console. Bench availability on the 2027 Big Horn has not been verified; Laramie and Rebel are five-seat trucks with a console, and the Cummins Power Wagon comes with a heated cloth bench as standard, so it seats six unless you take the leather buckets.
