2027 Ford F-250 Super Duty: prices, towing, two engines, and Tremor on every trim

Ford simplified the 2027 Super Duty hard: the 7.3-liter V8 (420 horsepower for 2027) is now the only gas engine and the 500-horsepower High Output Power Stroke the only diesel, while the Tremor off-road package spreads to every trim including the XL. Here is what Ford has confirmed and what the order guide shows.

A carryover body with a very different order sheet

The 2027 F-250 is the current-generation Super Duty, introduced for 2023, with no styling changes. Order banks opened May 8, 2026, Ford announced the new Carhartt edition the same day, and 2027 trucks began reaching dealers in September 2026. The next-generation F-150 and Super Duty are not due until 2029, so this is the truck for the next two model years.

Engines

Pick a gas V8 or a diesel. That is the whole menu.

The 2027 order guide drops the 6.8-liter gas V8 and the standard-output 6.7-liter diesel. reported What remains:

7.3-liter gas V8
420 horsepower and 445 pound-feet on Ford’s 2027 pages, a lower rating than the 430 and 485 the same engine carried for 2026. Standard on XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum, with the 10-speed TorqShift-G automatic in the F-250. confirmed F-250 ratings per the order guide: up to 18,200 pounds conventional towing, 19,500 pounds fifth-wheel and 4,175 pounds of payload. Compressed natural gas and propane prep comes with it. reported
6.7-liter High Output Power Stroke diesel
500 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet, the only diesel, optional on every trim. confirmed Reported at $12,495 on the F-250. F-250 ratings per the order guide: up to 22,000 pounds conventional towing with the high-capacity axle upgrade, 22,100 fifth-wheel, 23,000 gooseneck and 4,033 pounds of payload. reported
What left
The 6.8-liter V8 (the old base engine) and the standard-output 6.7-liter diesel. Anyone comparing a 2026 XL price to a 2027 XL price is comparing a 6.8 to a 7.3. reported
Hybrid
Not in the 2027 order guide. Ford has said the next-generation Super Duty, due by 2029, will use “multi-energy technology”; the press expects a range-extended electric option then, not now. confirmed for the 2029 timing and the wording; reported for the interpretation.

The off-road package

Tremor on every trim, including the XL

Ford announced in April 2026 that the Tremor Off-Road package is available on all 2027 Super Duty trims, where it used to start at XLT, and on the Crew Cab with the 8-foot bed as well as the 6¾-foot. The 8-foot-bed Tremor is the exception to “every trim”: Ford offers it on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum only, on a 176-inch wheelbase with a 48-gallon tank. confirmed

What you get
35-inch LT285/75R18 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires on 18-inch matte black aluminum wheels (Ford’s wording for the XL Tremor), a raised ride height, an electronic locking rear differential and a limited-slip front differential, performance shocks, skid plates for the transfer case and fuel tank, Trail Control and Rock Crawl mode. confirmed for the core content; the full list is from the dealer order guide. reported
Price and requirements
$4,450 on dealer price lists, the same as 2026; Ford has not published the 2027 package price. Requires 4x4, Crew Cab and single rear wheels. On the XL it also requires the STX Appearance and XL Driver Assist packages. With the 8-foot bed it requires the console seat and the 360-degree camera, which drops you to five seats. reported
Trail Turn Assist
Included in the 2027 Tremor Off-Road package alongside Trail Control and Rock Crawl Mode, per Ford’s What’s New release. confirmed
XL Off-Road packages
New for 2027, an XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire package without Tremor decals: lift, limited-slip front, locking rear, performance shocks, Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, Rock Crawl and skid plates. The old XL Off-Road package is renamed the 33-Inch Tire package. confirmed Dealer price lists show $2,995 for the 35-inch package and $995 for the 33-inch. reported
What Carova shows you
Three hours on the Carova sand show you how a 7,000-pound truck on 35s aired down to 18 to 20 psi handles soft ruts, how the 10-speed holds a gear at low speed, and how a Crew Cab with an 8-foot bed turns between the dunes and the surf. The 7.3 is plenty for the beach; let your trailer, not the sand, decide between the gas and the diesel.

Trims and prices

Five trims, with official 2027 prices out

XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum. The Limited trim ended after 2024, replaced by the Platinum Plus package. Does the 2027 F-250 still have a bench seat for six?

Yes. The XL comes standard with a vinyl 40/20/40 split front bench and the XLT with a cloth 40/20/40 bench with a power driver’s seat, for six passengers in a Crew Cab. The Tremor with the 8-foot bed requires the console seat, which makes it a five-seater.
