2027 Jeep Wrangler: prices, trims, what changed, and what disappeared
The 2027 Wrangler is the same JL underneath, with a shorter lineup (10 configurable models, down from 13), more standard equipment, a $600 higher starting price and no plug-in hybrid. Here is the full rundown, confirmed against Jeep where Jeep has published it.
A carryover year with a lot of housekeeping
Jeep is not redesigning the Wrangler for 2027. The JL generation that arrived for 2018 and was refreshed for 2024 carries on, and the news is in the details: the Sahara’s most-ordered option group becomes standard, the Rubicon gets heated seats and navigation as standard, the Wrangler 4xe is discontinued, and the 392 V8 survives in two special editions. The 2027 Wrangler is on sale and jeep.com lists it at $36,635 to start.
Updated November 7, 2026. Items are marked CONFIRMED when they come from the manufacturer and REPORTED when they come from order guides, dealers or the automotive press and the maker has not published them yet. We update this page as the model year fills in.

Press reads that as the JL continuing through 2028 and a new Wrangler around the 2029 model year. Jeep has not confirmed timing. reported
- Electrification
- Stellantis has said it is shifting to “more competitive electrified solutions, including hybrid and range-extended vehicles.” That is the only official word on what replaces the 4xe. confirmed

Questions
Straight answers about the Wrangler
What is new on the 2027 Jeep Wrangler?
Mostly equipment. The Sport, Sport S and Willys get a standard 7-inch digital cluster, the Sahara’s $2,495 Popular Equipment Group becomes standard, the Rubicon gets heated seats and navigation as standard, three paints are new (Ghost, Gum 31, Fathom Blue), the lineup shrinks from 13 to 10 configurable models and the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid is discontinued. There is no redesign.
How much is a 2027 Jeep Wrangler?
Jeep.com lists 2027 starting MSRPs before the $1,995 destination charge of $36,635 for the two-door Sport ($39,985 four-door), $39,035 Sport S, $43,230 Willys, $47,130 Rubicon ($51,330 four-door), $49,380 Rewind, $50,545 Smoky Mountain, $51,410 Sahara, $57,030 Rubicon X ($61,230 four-door), $70,995 Willys 392 and $79,995 Moab 392. The Sport is up $600 from 2026.
Is the Wrangler 4xe discontinued?
Yes. Stellantis announced in January 2026 that it was phasing out its North American plug-in hybrids beginning with the 2026 model year, including the Wrangler 4xe, and the 2027 Wrangler lineup has no 4xe.
Can you still get a V8 Wrangler in 2027?
Yes, but not as a Rubicon 392. The 6.4-liter 470-horsepower V8 continues in the Willys 392 and the Moab 392, both four-door only, at $70,995 and $79,995 before destination on jeep.com.
Is 2027 the last year of the current Wrangler?
Jeep has not said so. The UAW agreement from 2023 lists a next-generation Wrangler, code J70, starting production in 2028 at Toledo with electric and range-extended versions, which the press reads as the current JL running through 2028. Treat any specific date as reported, not confirmed.
Does the 2027 Wrangler still have a manual transmission?
Yes. The 6-speed manual is standard with the 3.6-liter V6 on Sport, Sport S, Willys, Rubicon and Rubicon X. The 2.0-liter turbo and the 392 V8 are automatic only.
When did the 2027 Jeep Wrangler come out?
Order guides were issued in late May 2026, production started in Toledo in August 2026 according to fleet schedules, and the 2027 Wrangler is on sale now with its own page on jeep.com.
Which 2027 Wrangler is best for the beach?
Any of them. On the Carova sand most drivers air down to about 18 to 20 psi and reinflate before the pavement. The Willys is the value pick for a rear locker and 33-inch tires at $43,230 before destination; the Rubicon adds the front locker, the 4:1 transfer case and the sway-bar disconnect for rock and trail work. Three hours on the Carova 4x4 beach will tell you how each one puts power down in soft sand and how the top and doors suit you, which is what the OffRoad.guide experience is for.
