GM Supplier Discount and GM Family First, explained: who qualifies, what each saves, and the no-haggle route if you don’t
The GM Supplier Discount is General Motors’ purchase program for employees of its supplier and partner companies: a set price below MSRP on new Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac vehicles, unlocked by an authorization number and honored by participating dealers. Eighteen thousand people a month search for it, and most of them want to know two things: do I qualify, and how much is it worth? Here is how the program works from GM’s own rules, what the supplier price is and isn’t, the Jeep and Ram equivalent, and, with no company code, how half a day on the Carova 4x4 beach gets you the No-Haggle Price in writing instead.
How it works
A company code, an authorization number, and a participating dealer
The GM Supplier Discount is GM’s program for people who work for the companies that supply it. GM calls the price “a special discounted price that is less than the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price.” It is not the employee price, and it is not a public offer; it runs on an authorization number that GM issues to you and the dealer has to have in hand before the sale.
-
Step 1
Check that your employer is on the list
Active hourly and salaried employees of eligible GM suppliers and business associates qualify, full- or part-time, if they live in the United States. Contract employees do not. GM’s site has a lookup that tells you whether your company is in without creating an account; otherwise your HR office has the company code.
-
Step 2
Get your authorization number
Register at gmsupplierdiscount.com with the company code, choose GM Supplier Discount, then Get Authorization Number. Each number is good for 90 days, and you get two a year, a limit shared with GM’s EV Supplier Allowance program.
-
Step 3
Find a dealer that takes it, for that model
Dealer participation is voluntary and set model by model, so say you are using the supplier discount in your first message, not at the desk. If one store declines, another may not. Bring the printed number, a company badge or a pay stub from the last 30 days, and your license.
-
Step 4
Pay the program price, with most current offers on top
The price on the invoice has to match the program price on the paperwork. GM says the program “is compatible with most current offers,” so the rebates and financing you qualify for usually apply on top; the Offers page on GM’s site and the dealer confirm which ones. You cannot accept extra money off from the dealer beyond GM-sponsored incentives.
-
Step 5
Keep it six months, in your own name
Bought with cash or a loan, the vehicle has to stay yours for at least six months from delivery, titled and insured to you for personal use. The documentation fee is capped at $75 unless state law sets one or the dealer charges every customer the same. Misusing or selling an authorization number costs five years of eligibility.
The price
What the supplier price is, and isn’t
GM does not publish the percentage. The supplier price is a set figure per model and trim, below sticker and above the employee price, and the only way to see yours is to build the vehicle on the brand’s site and look at the supplier pricing line, or ask a participating dealer with your number.
- Below MSRP, by model
- GM’s own description is a discounted price “less than the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price.” The gap is bigger on some models than others and can change without notice, and GM can pull a model from the eligible list at any time.
- Set, not negotiated
- The No-Haggle Price is the No-Haggle Price. The dealer can’t add to it and you can’t accept a side discount beyond GM’s incentives. A dealer can still sell you financing, accessories and the extended warranty, and you can still say no.
- Not always the best price
- On a model carrying a large public rebate or a dealer sitting on too many of them, the ordinary negotiated price can beat the supplier price. Compare the out-the-door numbers, not the labels.
- Share Your Discount
- After you buy or lease through the program you can sponsor one family member, friend or neighbor per qualifying purchase, within a year of your purchase, up to twice a year. You generate their number from your account with their date of birth and ZIP code; they have 90 days to use it and you don’t have to be there.
- Purchase or lease
- Both. New and unused vehicles only, titled to a person, not a business. Up to two per calendar year.
GM Family First
GM Family First: the employee price, and who can use it
The supplier discount is for people who work for companies that sell to GM. GM Family First is the program for GM’s own people and their families.
- Who it’s for
- Active and retired GM and GM Financial employees, former GM employees with more than five years of service, and the widows and widowers of those former employees. GM dealership employees get the same savings.
- Family they can sponsor
- With 20 or more years of service, a long list: spouse, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Former employees with five to 20 years can sponsor a spouse and dependent children only.
- The price
- GM calls it the Employee Discount Price. It is printed on the program’s pricing sheet at signing; GM’s rules tell buyers to check it against the vehicle invoice before they sign.
- Which vehicles
- Select new GM models, Chevrolet, GMC and Buick among them, from the eligible list on GM Family First. The list changes.
- No family tie to GM?
- Then the employee price isn’t yours, and neither is the supplier price. Here is the other way to a set, no-haggle price.
The Jeep and Ram version, and Ford’s
Every Detroit brand has a partner-company price. Stellantis calls its program Affiliate Rewards (it was FCA Affiliate Rewards until the merger): employees of partner companies buy a Jeep, Ram, Dodge or Chrysler at a preferred price reported as one percent below factory invoice plus a $75 administration fee, haggle-free, with a control number from the program site. Ford runs the X-Plan for partner employees and the A- and Z-Plans for its own people and retirees. The shape is the same each time: your employer is on a list, you get a number, a participating dealer sells at a set price.
GM program terms are from GM’s published rules and FAQs at gmsupplierdiscount.com as of November 2026; the Affiliate Rewards price is as reported by Motor1 in 2026, not a Stellantis publication. All three programs change their terms without notice and can exclude models at any time.
If you don’t qualify
No company code? There is another way to a set, no-haggle price.
Most of the people searching for the GM Supplier Discount don’t work for a GM supplier. They want what the program gives its members: a price fixed in advance, by someone other than the salesperson, with nothing to argue about. OffRoad.guide gives you that, and the membership is half a day in the vehicle instead of a badge.
- What qualifies you
- Half a day in the off-road trim on the Carova 4x4 beach north of Corolla, North Carolina, no salesperson anywhere in it. The Silverado Custom Trail Boss drives through our Chevrolet dealer; the Wrangler, Gladiator and Ram 2500 Warlock through our Jeep and Ram dealer; the Bronco and F-250 Tremor through our Ford dealer. $325 a vehicle, any month of the year.
- The price
- Set by our dealer for that brand before you book and the same for every program driver. You see it on a numbered certificate: sticker, the dealer’s discount, factory cash, the No-Haggle Price, any delivery fee and the out-the-door total, good for 30 days.
- If you do hold a number
- Say so when you book. Our dealer puts in writing which price applies to your order before the certificate is issued, so you are never choosing blind between the two.
- Built to order
- You drive the off-road trim, then order the trim, color and options you want at the No-Haggle Price. Within the dealer’s area it delivers to your door; farther away, a dealer near you hands over the keys for a flat fee printed on the certificate.

Questions
Straight answers
What is GM Family First?
GM Family First is GM’s employee discount program. Active and retired GM and GM Financial employees, longtime former employees and their eligible family members can buy or lease select new GM vehicles at the Employee Discount Price.
Is GM Family First the same as the GM Supplier Discount?
No. GM Family First is for GM’s own employees, retirees and their families. The GM Supplier Discount is for employees of companies that supply GM. Each has its own eligibility and its own program price.
Who qualifies for the GM Supplier Discount?
Active full- and part-time employees of companies on GM’s eligible supplier and business-associate list who live in the United States. Contract employees don’t qualify. Spouses and, after a purchase, one friend or family member per qualifying purchase can be sponsored through Share Your Discount.
How much does the GM Supplier Discount save?
GM says only that the price is less than MSRP; it publishes no percentage, and the amount differs by model and trim. The supplier price sits between the sticker price and the GM employee price. Build the vehicle on the brand’s site to see the supplier line for that exact model.
How do I get a GM supplier discount code?
Register at gmsupplierdiscount.com with the company code from your HR office, choose GM Supplier Discount, then Get Authorization Number. It is good for 90 days and you get two a year. Take it to a participating dealer with a company badge or recent pay stub and your license.
Can the GM Supplier Discount be combined with rebates?
Usually. GM says the program is compatible with most current offers, and the dealer and GM’s Offers page confirm which incentives stack on a given model. What you cannot do is take extra money off from the dealer beyond GM’s own incentives.
Do all GM dealers accept the supplier discount?
No. Participation is voluntary and decided model by model, so a dealer can take it on one truck and not another. Mention it in your first contact and try another store if one declines.
What is the Jeep or Ram equivalent of the GM Supplier Discount?
Stellantis Affiliate Rewards, formerly FCA Affiliate Rewards: employees of partner companies get a preferred price reported at one percent below factory invoice plus a $75 fee, with a control number, at participating Jeep, Ram, Dodge and Chrysler dealers. Ford’s equivalent for partner employees is the X-Plan.
I don’t work for a supplier. Is there a no-haggle price I can get?
Yes. Every dealer in OffRoad.guide sets one No-Haggle Price for program drivers, the same for everyone, before you book. Half a day in the off-road trim on the Carova beach is what qualifies you, and the price comes on a 30-day certificate.
Is OffRoad.guide connected to GM?
No. OffRoad.guide is not affiliated with General Motors, Stellantis, Ford or any dealer group. The factory programs are described here from their public rules because they are what most people searching for a set price already know.
